Whangarei Netball Centre Pre-Season Fitness Programmes

Whangarei Netball Centre is excited to offer two pre-season fitness programmes to help players of all ages get ready for the upcoming season! Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, these programmes are designed to help you build strength, improve your fitness, and prepare your body for the demands of the netball season.


Netball-Specific Fitness Series (18+)

Partnering with Health, Strength, and Performance, Whangarei

Kickstart your season with our Netball-Specific Fitness Series, delivered in partnership with Health, Strength, and Performance, Whangarei. This series is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge, and tools to improve your baseline fitness and prepare for the season ahead.

Program Overview:

  • Session 1: Strength Training for Netball
  • Session 2: Injury Prevention Techniques
  • Session 3: Fitness Session

Each session is 1 hour 15 minutes long and is aimed at helping participants build the fitness, strength, and injury resilience needed for netball. Whether you're looking to enhance your strength, learn injury prevention strategies, or boost your overall fitness, these sessions are perfect for you!

  • Dates: 18 February, 25 February, 4 March 2025
  • Time: 6.00 PM – 7.15 PM
  • Cost: $15 per session
  • Target Audience: 18 years and above

These sessions will give you the knowledge and ability to achieve your baseline fitness before the netball season begins, ensuring you're ready to hit the court at your best.

Youth Netball Prep Series (Under 18)

Our Youth Netball Prep Series is designed specifically for players under 18, focused on building essential bodyweight strength, core strength, and stability. Using the NetballSmart Prep n' Play programme, this series will help young athletes increase their fitness and build a strong foundation for the upcoming season.

Program Overview:

  • Focus on bodyweight strength, core stability, and injury prevention.
  • Designed to increase fitness and improve overall body conditioning for netball.
  • Ideal for young athletes looking to gain a competitive edge and avoid injury.

  • Dates & Times: Tuesdays, 18 March - 8 April 2025
  • Cost: Free
  • Session Length: 5.00pm - 6.15pm 
  • Target Audience: Under 18
